Join us Fridays as we introduce them to you on Classic Hits KDUZ.

Heart of Minnesota Animal Center – Jupiter

Jupiter isn’t as far away as we have thought, as a matter of fact, he’s right here! Jupiter is a handsome young guy with a beautiful, exotic coat. He is dark grey/ brown with big spots on his side. But he is more than just another pretty face.

You will quickly learn that this special boy is a talker and very friendly. He lets you know what’s on his mind, but not in a mean way, as he has lived happily with another male. He is a happy, healthy and well-trained male.

Ruff Start Dog & Cat Rescue –  Schmeow

Hello! Shmeow here. I’m a 9-year-old female Maine Coon/Domestic Long Hair mix. I’m a big confident lady who knows what she likes. Once I warm up to you, I love to be around my person! There are times I enjoy some snuggles, but I am not the snuggliest kitty around. I do love companionship of my person and really enjoy head and chin scritches.

I’m easy to purr and am content just being in the same room as my people – no entertainment necessary. Even though I’m a relaxed girl, I do enjoy a good string toy, my mousies, and catnip. Boy do I love catnip! My foster mom says I’m a bit of a particular girl and like to get my way. I like to think I just know what I like and want to make sure you know as well. I may be confident in my likes and dislikes, but I know one thing’s for sure – I just want a best friend and someone to love to spend my senior days with. Is that you?

Hawk Creek Animal Shelter – Mildura

My name is Mildura. I am an 8-month-old Pit Bull mixed puppy that has so much energy I don’t know what to do with it all. I like to parkour all over the place and jump off random things. Mind games and working my energy off would help to calm me down to make me the best puppy ever! Toys are fun things to play with, but I’m not sure why I need to bring it back to the human. I mean I’m already playing with it. I would love to have an active family to help me get all my sillies out!

Midwest Animal Rescue & Services (MARS) – Angelica

Meet Angelica. We just call her Honey, though, because she is oh so sweet. She gets along with all people and dogs.

She is completely house trained and crate trained and she is becoming much better at walking on a leash. She responds well to both verbal reinforcement and food rewards.

This dog is very smart and enjoys her training sessions. She would love to find someone who can continue her training and provide structure and mental stimulation.

She likes to be busy, but also enjoys a good cuddle on the couch or bed. She loves to give kisses. Angelica is such a happy dog that when she wags her tail, her entire body wiggles. You can’t help but feel happy when she’s around. To learn more, please click here! to apply today!

Tri-County Animal Shelter – Leo

Leo doesn’t care that it’s Libra season – he still wants to have all eyes on him! This almost 2-year-old neutered bun loves being pet and getting lovin’. Rabbits are very social and intelligent creatures and enjoy toys in their cage to keep their minds from getting bored- treat puzzle toys, some cat toys, and even a toilet paper roll with hay and treats stuffed inside are all great options. Talk to a TCHS staff member for pointers on rabbit care; we’ll be happy to help.

Underdog Pet Rescue of MN – Otis

Hi I’m Otis and I was born on 8/1/2020 and am guessed to be a Terrier & Chow Chow! I recently came up here from Texas and I have to say it’s pretty nice. I’m a friendly guy who likes scratches and ear rubs. I like going on walks with my foster mama so I can take in the world. I walk very nicely on leash by the way. I’m totally kennel trained and mom hasn’t heard me make a peep yet.

I would describe myself as chill and very mature for my age. I have a serious demeanor about me though sometimes she sees a little spark like a young dog has where I’ll do a little dance. I do ok with calm dogs on a walk but I think I’d really prefer to be an only dog right now. I haven’t met any little kids but I think I’d prefer older kids too that are calmer. I love food and I take treats very gently. I’m told that makes training easy. I think I’m a great catch and can’t wait to meet you!

Pet Haven of Minnesota – Sweetness

Sweetness is a 17-year-old “grand dame” looking for her new palace. She lets you know when to pet her, then lets you know it is time to stop. She’s not a cuddler, but wants to be in proximity to where you are, so don’t expect her to sit on your lap or even next to you on the sofa. The good news is that she stays off the furniture, preferring her own bed or a comfy spot on the floor.

As a senior, Sweetness is more into napping than anything. She’s a champion napper! Once in a while she gets talkative, but usually she’s telling you she needs some sort of attention, likely a good petting. She sometimes plays a little, but she’ll let you know when she needs that kind of diversion, and it seldom lasts for long. At 17, she’s more chill. She’s an indoor cat since she is declawed and likely needs to be the only pet in the house.

Sweetness needs a quiet home without other pets and definitely no young children. She’ll get snippy if she’s aggravated and doesn’t like the vet and needs sedation on a visit for health care.
